Watercolouring Stippled blossoms

Well I did promise more watercolouring and here it is. I worked with my Stampin Up Watercolour pencils, I know they are retired but I still kept mine to play with! This technique used ink pads with blender pens and even chalk with blender pens. I love how much depth I ended up with on my roses.  I first inked my images with Stazon Black onto  watercolour paper.  I just began with soft pinks and gradual increased the colour selection until I reached the desired look. I distressed over the whole image very lightly with old olive and then again with more ink along the edges. I am not a fan of one layer cards but am pretty pleased with this one. It has a very vintage look about it, don't you think ? Thanks for dropping by. Hope you will come again soon.

Feathered Hope

Welcome! I have been looking through some of my retired stamp sets. Feathered Hope was the first purchase I made from Stampin Up in 1998. This set of stamps has been through alot with me and it's one I simply cannot part with. Silly I know but using it reminds me of a time when my kids where young and finding time to stamp a single image was difficult let along put together a whole card! Cannot believe where the past fifteen years has gone and all the changes I have seen in those fifteen years.

Anyways back to this little card. I made it using the following items: Crumb Cake card stock, Harvest Orchard DSP, jumbo eyelets, crochet trim, garden twine, Floral Fusion Sizzlits, Feathered Hope stamp set, chocolate chip, crumb cake ink and Vintage Trinkets. I have enjoyed revisiting my old friends and look forward to many more cards using them. They make me smile! Cya soon.

Limeade and Doilies

Hi and welcome to my little craft studio. Today I was thinking about those delicious Cherry Limeade's from Sonic. Why ? No idea . Maybe the hope of some warm sunny weather for a change! Anyways that got me thinking about the Lucky Limeade from Stampin Up. This card contains Lucky Limeade card stock, as if you couldn't see ! I versa marked stamps from the Stippled Blossoms and Creative Elements for my background. You will note that some of the images I used Old Olive( don't own the Lucky Limeade ink pad YET!!) I cut out the honeycomb patterned DSP from Tea for Two and then attached my doilie. The flowers are made from cutting Floral Fusion Sizzlits out of the same honeycomb patterned paper. Added my favorite bit of bling.....pearls and stamped my sentiment from the Wishes Your Way Stamp set and this card is ready to post. I hope you enjoyed dropping by and please leave me your comments. Cya soon

Cardstock and Canvas

Hiya and thanks for stopping by to see what I have been up to. My first time using my new embossing folder , Honeycomb, I love this little folder! I can see alot of uses for it in the future.  I sanded the impressions a bit to soften it for this card. The piece of canvas was stamped using stazon black ink with En Francais . I distressed the edges of the canvas with a little crumb cake ink. The tag was stamped with Daydream Medallions in chocolate chip and crumb cake. The accessories include the butterfly, hat  pins, garden twine and buttons. I am pleased with how I came out and am anxious to attempt more cards using the canvas. Thanks for having a look. Cya soon.

Hello Bloggers

Today I was busy baking a lemon drizzle cake for my neighbor who has been feeling down the past couple of weeks.  My husband put in his request for a Devils Food cake and at long last I found some "me" time to spend in my studio. My version includes Tea for Two DSP, Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade, Very Vanilla card stock.  My first chance to try out the Apothecary Labels collection and I adore them! I added some very vanilla seam binding ribbon, basic pearls and here it is. Let me know what you think :-) Cya soon

A Valentine for my Valentine

A very busy week I am having! Found just enough time to make this card for my sweetie. I have used En Francais with white embossing on black card stock. Layered Pool Party onto Crumb Cake cardstock to form the base. Next I added More Amore DSP and a few bits from the Artisan Embellishments Kit. Tied a little bow using Primrose Petals stitched satin ribbon. Inside I stamped various hearts from Hearts A Flutter. I really love this color combination and cannot wait to find some time to make a few more cards for friends. Happy Valentine's Day! Cya soon

Watercolour Lovely As a Tree

The sun is hiding today , the trees are bare with no sign of Spring as of yet.  Good day to spend in my studio bringing colour into my day. Be it on paper it's nice to see the trees green and full.

I used Stampin Up watercolour pencils to colour in the Lovely as a Tree stamp which has been inked in Chocolate Chip. I used the blender pen to soften the colours. Cardstock used is Very Vanilla and Early Espresso. I definitely want to practice my water colouring as I love the look on cards. Thanks for having a look. Cya soon
