A Winter's Day

Hi Everyone. I hope you are all enjoying this holiday season. It's been so nice to have some down time to finally get the chance to play with my stamps. My pinterest addiction has been in full force this past week giving me a lot of inspiration and reason to get busy creating!

I haven't had as much opportunity to use this Stampendous stamp as I had hoped but today I made this for a fellow swapper. I hope she likes it!

Other stamps used were Special Season and Gorgeous Grunge. The photo doesn't show it very well but the pine cones have snow from the Gorgeous Grunge all over them.

Happy New Year! Come again soon.

Strawberry Slush

Hey there Happy Crafters! Everyone all set for Santa's visit? I still have a few chores to complete but not so much it's kept me from crafting. Oh I could get used to this! I am really enjoying the down time and chance to try some new designs. Here is the first.  I am calling this Retro One layer as it feels very retro to me!

I love the Baked Brown Sugar with Strawberry Slush. I also used Blushing Bride and love how it came out. I usually go for more layers but must admit I am loving this one layer card and intend to make more of these in the upcoming year.

So while I had already made a complete mess of my craft room I figured why not carry on with these colours.

This card was surprisingly simple to make. I just started building layers first with the honey comb background on crumb cake base.

This card makes use of the Postcard Background stamp along with Blooming with Kindness and Field Flowers ( my favourite set at the moment).  I have found making several cards in the same colour family seems to be the easiest solution for me. Why haven't I found this tip before now?!

Lastly, as promised yesterday, the card using "Hope" sentiment. This is my first go with the Summer Silhouettes and it's such a fun stamp set to use. I am looking forward to more time designing from this set.

Well I hope it won't be too long until I can post again but with Christmas so close I doubt it! Have a very Merry Christmas & Happy New Year. Cya soon!

Hope Floats

Dunno why this card made me think of Hope Floats but it did. I do love this sentiment and couldn't wait to get the opportunity to use it. I combined Blooming with Kindness, Post Card and Flower Shop in this card. The colours are Pistachio Pudding, Stawberry Slush and Baked Brown Sugar.....DELICIOUS!!!!! I do love the new colours from Stampin Up for 2013-2014.

I've got another card using this same stamp for you tomorrow. The light has gone for today so I will photograph and post it tomorrow. Come again soon!

Busy as a Bee........

Welcome! Only days to go before Christmas. I am sure we are all busy baking, doing our last minute shopping and wrapping gifts. I am up early today to find a little time in my craft room before I begin baking. Today I am making Stollen. I tried it for the first time last year and it came out beautifully! Definitely a new Christmas tradition in my home.

But before all of that. Here is what I created today. I needed a little "lift" with all the grey dreary weather we've been experiencing this time of year.

I hope you have enjoyed stopping by the Firefly Studio today. If you have any questions or comments please contact me. Cya soon!

White on White

Hello and welcome. Today's posting if for the Paper Players Challenge 176  White on White. I knew immediately I wanted to use the Ex Libris stamp for this challenge. I thought the embossed image would be elegant on an all white background. See what you think .....

We were able to use any neutral or metallic sentiment and I wanted to keep it simple so I chose to emboss mine in Pewter embossing powder. I added some white ribbon , a few little blossoms and pearls to finish it off my wedding card. Thanks so much for stopping in today. Please come again

Winter Wonderland.....

I am  taking part of a card swap challenge with some very talented ladies. This month's challenge is to create three different cards. One of the card to make is a Winter Wonderland . I couldn't resist using this stamp for this challenge. As you might have guessed I love this one!

This is my first attempt at masking for a background. I started by blending my colours for the sky and came back with white pigment ink to create the snowy hills.  I finished it with an embossed image in silver.

I intended to make this one layer but in the end I felt it needed a little more colour and embellishing. Hopefully I will find more time to work on these backgrounds as I do love creating something "unique".

Thanks for having a look and please come again soon.

Peaceful Christmas

Hi Happy Crafters! Everyone all ready for Christmas? I've still got baking and some shopping to do. Time is running out and I am beginning to panic!

Today I wanted to share my latest addition to the stamp family. I spotted this one on my day out with a good friend and I had to have it!

I am really happy with how this card came out. You know how you start out with an image in your mind, and in the end it's just not it! Not this time! It came out just the way I had hoped. I am really loving these stamps and cannot wait to make more card using them. If you have any questions please contact me. Hope to see you again soon.

For the Birds!

I cannot believe how many Christmas cards I have made this year and still making more! I can honestly say that I have enjoyed making every single one of them. I am going to hate to see the season over. We've had so many gorgeous stamp sets to chose from this year and most I will be keeping.

It's been a while since I used any bird stamps, and you know how I love my birds! So today I am using Stampin Up Ex Libris background with another of my favorite bird stamps. I had someone special in mind when I made this card. She's a lover of shabby chic so I thought this would suit her.

I've used Stampin Up watercolour pencils and the blender pen on the birds. In hindsight I wish I had added a banner with a Christmas sentiment on it, perhaps next time! Thanks for dropping in and do come again!

Stag Cliffhanger

Welcome. I am still making Christmas cards to be sent to friends and family. Although I am fat running out of time! Where has the time went? Seems we were only just celebrating Halloween and now we are on the countdown to Christmas!

As you see today's card is using the same stamp as yesterday. I am loving this image. I can see it being used for masculine cards throughout the year as well as Christmas.

I wanted to keep it simple and Stampin Up's sentiment works really well with it I think. If you want to know what colours or products used please feel free to contact me. I hope you enjoyed it and will come again.

Clean and Simple Christmas

Hello. Well today I've stepped away from the vintage Christmas theme. I  recently purchased this stamp and thought it would make a great simple and clean card. I first stamped the image in Perfect Plum but thought it needed a little sparkle. Dazzling Diamonds were needed!!! Using my Stamp ma jig I inked it up with Versa mark and somehow got it slightly off....must purchase new light for craft room!! The end result I like though. I think it gives a little more depth, or perhaps I am just too lazy to correct it :-) Have a look and let me know what you think .....

Thank you for stopping by. I would love to hear from you and do hope you will visit again.Cya!

Vintage Christmas goes on .....

Hi and Welcome! Today I am carrying on with the Vintage Christmas theme. The inspiration for these cards goes to the incredibly talented Jane Goldman at Petite Fleur Paperie. I love Jane's style in crafting!

So now for a look at my version .....

If you have any questions about the supplies used in making these cards please contact me! I'd love to hear from you. Come again soon.

Vintage Christmas

Today I had a rare day out with a good friend. We browsed a local craft store where I found this little gem. I fell in love with the image and knew I had to own it. I designed this card to ship to my son for Christmas. I hope he likes it!  Other than the image everything else I used is Stampin Up supplies.  I am looking forward to making more cards with this stamp!
